CODEL Makes Stopover Sunday

A congressional delegation made a brief stop over at Pago Pago International Airport on Sunday, Valentine’s Day.

The CODEL was led by Senator James M. Inhofe, (R-Oklahoma) Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and Senior Member of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee.

The travelers from D.C. included two other senators, three congressmen, wives, staff members and military escorts.

Acting Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga led ASG officials who welcomed the US lawmakers at the airport.

CODEL arrivesCongresswoman Aumua Amata who arrived on island Friday night also greeted the visitors.

The VIP welcoming included an ava ceremony at the Samoan fale at the airport during the 2 hour refueling stop.
