The 2015 FaaSamoa Camp, sponsored by the Troy and Theodora Polamalu Foundation will be bringing down the biggest contingent yet of any of the summer camps held in the territory.
A total of 175 athletes, coaches, medical personnel, educators and family members will be arriving June 19 .
Stressing the importance of education for any athlete, the camp includes an enhanced academic and life skills component and includes a medical mission as well.
The contingent arrives June 19 and Mrs. Polamalu says the first activity on June 20 will have Troy speaking to parents on how their involvement contributes to their children’s success in the classroom and on the field.
To ensure parental involvement, when kids register for the Faasamoa Camp their parents have to sign a waiver or their children can’t participate.
The Troy and Theodora Polamalu Foundation is donating a complete computer lab for the Pago Pago Youth Center, and that would include computers, software and supplies as well as the salary of a person to manege the computer lab.
