American Samoa Little League Announces Summer Program Registration and Exciting Tournament Participation

Pago Pago, American Samoa – June 21, 2024 – American Samoa Little League is thrilled to announce the opening of registrations for its highly anticipated summer program, set to run from July 11th to August. With a strong commitment to fostering community spirit and developing young talent, the program promises an exciting season for participants aged 4 to 16.

Summer Program Registration: Registrations are now open and can be completed at the Tony Solaita Field from Monday to Friday, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The registration fee is $35 per player. This year’s program will feature a variety of divisions, including Tee Ball, Little League Baseball, and Softball. The initiative is supported by several generous sponsors, including Territorial Bank, McDonald’s, Morris Scanlan Service Station, and Pacific Independent Distributors, who are contributing towards uniforms and other essential needs.

“We’re excited to welcome new and returning players,” said Veyonce Gonzalez, a Little League representative. “Our focus is on building community and providing a fun, supportive environment for all skill levels.”

Upcoming Tournament in Denver: In addition to the summer program, American Samoa Little League’s post-softball team is preparing to compete in a prestigious tournament in Denver, Colorado. Scheduled for June 26th, this event will feature approximately 600 teams and serve as a major college recruiting opportunity. “This is a fantastic chance for our players to showcase their talents on a larger stage,” noted Saipai Cassens , another league representative.

“We aim to create a balanced mix of competition and fun, ensuring players from different villages come together, make new friends, and develop their skills,” Veyonce added. “Our draft system helps to build diverse teams and foster a sense of unity and teamwork.”
