The family of 16-year-old Hope Myung today said goodbye to her.
A message from the family late this morning said, “Hope is with the Lord. We are saying goodbye to her. Thank you for your support and prayers. May God bless you all for your kindness you have shown to our family.”
Hope was airlifted to Queen’s Hospital in Honolulu, last Thursday. She had been kept alive on a life support system after she was admitted to the LBJ Hospital on July 26.
She had been swept out while swimming at Vaitogi with her mother and siblings.
Young men from the village were able to rescue her but she was unconscious from the time she was brought to shore and rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of LBJ Hospital.
Today, doctors at Queen’s hospital performed tests to determine if there was anything else they could do to save her life. Before noon today, the family advised that they had said their farewells to their dear daughter.
