Dr. Akapusi Ledua will continue to serve as Acting CEO of the LBJ Hospital for now, and the Board of Directors has no plans to advertise the CEO position at this stage.
Consultant to the LBJ Board, Dr. Jean Anderson said until Dr. Ledua informs the board he is leaving, he will remain as Acting CEO.
Dr. Ledua told a Senate hearing, in March, that he has accepted an offer as medical director at a hospital in Alaska and some paperwork was being finalized before he took up the offer. At the same hearing, Dr. Ledua said that his contract as acting CEO expires in April.
When KHJ News asked Dr. Anderson for an update on Dr. Ledua’s employment status, she said, “We’ve been informed that his departure date is unknown at this time and until he informs us he will continue as Acting CEO.” She said the board has no plans to advertise the LBJ CEO position at this time.
Dr. Ledua has been Acting CEO since the forced resignation for former CEO Moefaauo Bill Emmsley in February.
