The Senate yesterday approved, by unanimous vote, a new member of the Board of Trustees of the American Samoa Government Employees Retirement Fund, Joseph Toloai Ho Ching II. All 16 senators present endorsed Ho Ching, who replaces businessman Frank Gaisoa on the board.
His term is for 5 years.
Ho Ching is currently President and CEO of their family business, CBT Ho Ching and Co Inc. He is also the Civilian Aide to the US Secretary of the Army, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Territorial Bank of American Samoa.
Ho Ching is also Chairman of the American Samoa Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters.
His confirmation hearing in the House of Representatives is next week.
