AmSamoa midterm elections on November 8th

It’s just five months away before voters head to the polls to elect members of the American Samoa House of Representatives and a member of Congress.

Voting Day is November 8th.

Chief Election Officer, Dr. Uiagalelei Lealofi has issued notice that nomination petitions and materials for the 2022 midterm elections will be available at the Election Office in Tafuna, from June 15th to September 1st.

Registration is also open for first time voters, those who will be 18 by Election Day, those who’ve never registered to vote and those whose names have been purged from the voter list on account of not casting ballots in the last two consecutive elections.

To register, go to the Election Office in Tafuna with your birth certificate or valid US passport, Social Security card and a government photo ID.

Uniformed services voters, overseas voters and students attending institutions of learning outside of American Samoa, must submit requests for absentee ballots for the 2022 Midterm Election. The form is available online at aselectionoffice.gov.

The Outside Absentee Request process began on January 1st, 2022.

Uniformed services voters and overseas voters outside of the US and territories can also use the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to request your absentee ballot.
