While the latest Emergency Declaration for Covid-19 removes “essential” and “non-essential” businesses, it still includes a list of businesses and places that cannot open at this time. The list includes:

  • Bars;
  • Bingo;
  • Child daycare facilities;
  • Gyms and fitness centers;
  • Hair salons, barbershops, nail salons or services;
  • Movie theaters;
  • Outdoor fundraising activities; and
  • Recreational facilities that are open to the public.

But the attorney general said at Monday’s press conference these businesses can submit requests for re-opening, and their requests will be reviewed by the Covid-19 Task Force Chairman.

The Chairman, Lt Governor Talauega Eleasalo Ale  fielded a question about assistance for employees who have not received a paycheck in the last three weeks.
