The LBJ Hospital remains opened but has activated its Code Red Plan for Covid-19.
We’ve reported on the protocols for the busiest clinics. The following explains the protocols for other clinics.
Pre-scheduled Outpatient Urgent Clinics:
Pre-scheduled outpatient urgent clinic patients enter the ER entrance and are directed to the outpatient clinic screening tent. The same screening and testing done for patients in the ER are done for these pre-scheduled urgent outpatient clinic cases.
If their covid test is negative they are directed to the respective clinic, attended to and go home afterwards. If their covid test is positive, they are directed back to the streamline tent outside the ER to be evaluated for their covid status and managed accordingly as mentioned above. They will be re-scheduled for another clinic day.
Prenatal Pre-scheduled High Risk Pregnancy:
Prenatal pre-scheduled high risk pregnancy clinic patients are screened outside of the clinic and womens auxillary waiting area, have their covid test done, and wait for their covid test result.
If negative they enter the clinic and are seen by the doctor, but if the test is positive they are directed back to the ER streamline tent and managed just like the other covid positive cases mentioned above. (See earlier story for protocols for other clinics)
All patients and families – with both positive and negative covid tests are advised to strictly follow the Department of Health Isolation Advisory protocol to prevent and control the spread of covid virus in the community.
