As of yesterday morning the number of COVID-19 tests conducted by the Department of Health was 1,527 and all were negative.
LBJ Hospital now has its ABI 7500 testing machine up and running and that is capable of doing 96 tests in one day.
This machine is a second hand one which the hospital acquired on an emergency basis but it has now taken delivery of a brand new ABI 7500 machine which will be calibrated and installed in the coming weeks.
The hospital has 20,000 test kits to be used with the ABI 7500 machines.
In the presentation for the cabinet yesterday by DOH Epidemiologist Dr Aifili John Tufa about the spread of coronavirus worldwide, the US mainland, Hawaii and neighboring countries, the doctor said there was a correlation between the spread of cornavirus and the relaxing of restrictions, including the reopening of borders.
