Deep and wide poitholes made their appearance on the Fagaima road after the last heavy rains which followed a pot hole patching job by one of the companies with a road maintenance contract with Public Works, Silva Construction.

Representatives Larry Sanitoa and Samuel Meleisea have sent photos of the crater size potholes to Public Works urging that they patch up the new pot holes.

“There are now several huage and very dangerous potholes on the Fagaima Road” said Rep Sanitoa in an email to Deputy Director of Public Works Faalavai Taase.

He added that the potholes are deep and extremely dangerous especially at night when visibility is poor.

Sanitoa asked that if the contractor Is not available that Public Works put in some fill for now.

Rep. Meleisea took photos of the potholes which are only visible after flooding recedes on the Fagaima Road and sent them to Public Works.

Backing up Sanitoa’s request, he said, the road condition in Fagaima and Kokoland have become “deplorable and unsafe.”

The response from Deputy Director Taase is that Public Works will attend to fixing the potholes asap.
