
The top five winners from the high school division of the Territorial Science Fair and the overall first place winner from the 6-8 grade cluster in the Elementary Division will compete in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair to be held in Anaheim, California May 10 -15, 2020. 3801
The top three overall winners in the Territorial Science Fair High School Division are Yasminna Sanchez of Samoana High School who tied with Victor Chen of Pacific Horizon School; second overall was Vincent Jagon of Faasao Marist and third overall was Jade Cox of Pacific Horizon School.
Mei Ling Aga of South Pacific Academy placed 4th and in 5th place was Angela Chen of Pacific Horizon.
For the Elementary Division 1st place overall in Grades 6-8 was Fitzgerald Alofa of Manumalo Academy, Orion Leau of Marist St Francis was 2nd overall and Daniel Lee of South Pacific Academy was third overall.
For Grades 3-5 1st Alana Joserose of South Pacific Academy, 2nd Alice Lee also of South Pacific Academy and 3rd was Teuilaosamoaisisifo Ili of Manulele Elementary.
For Grades K-2 1st overall was Miguel De Wees of South Pacific Academy, Aljay Sua of Pavaiai Elementary placed second and Taufagapiu Luvu of Manumalo Academy was third.
The American Samoa Science Fair was held Feb. 10-14th at the Rex Lee Auditorium, Utulei.
More than 350 students from K-12 grade levels from all schools participated.
The Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF), is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition.
Each year, approximately 1,800 high school students from more than 75 countries, regions, and territories are awarded the opportunity to showcase their independent research and compete for on average $4 million in prizes.
