Communtiy health centers in American Samoa join the celebration of National Community Health Centers Week which kicks off Monday, August 5.
Director of Communtiy Health Centers at the Department of Health, Kenn Kuaea, says their focus for this year’s celebration is to take health services to outlying areas.
The territory’s health centers are in Amouli, Tafuna, Leone and Tau and Ofu.
Kuaea says the aim is to alleviate congestion at the LBJ Hospital and provide preventative health care for residents.
For Monday, residents of the eastern end of the island can get health checks at the Amouli Health Center.

The other health centers will also be providing services and there’ll be activities throughout the week.
