
While use of the US Army Reserve’s new indoor firing range is opened to the Department of Public Safety, only officers who have passed certification by the US Department of Justice can train in the facility.
An MOU was signed this morning between ASG and the US Army allowing use of the ifiring range by DPS personnel , without any cost to ASG.
Acting Governor Talauega Eleasalo Ale and Commissioner of Public Safety Le’i Sonny Thompson signed on behalf of ASG while Brigadier General Douglas Anderson, Commanding General of the 9th mission Support Command inked the MOU on behalf of the Army.
During a brief question and answer session following the signing, the senior civilian attorney for the 9th MSC, Charles Djou explained the process for DPS’ use of the firing range,
