Rep. Larry Sanitoa has asked fthe Legislative Financial Officer to provide several financial reports that would help lawmakers understand the current financial status of the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority.
The Tuala-uta faipule said ASEDA, the American Samoa Economic Development Authority, last month issued $50 million in bonds of which $28.3 million is for outstanding debts of ASTCA for the Hawaiki Cable.
He points out that this amount is over and above the $30 million ASTCA already loaned from the Retirement Fund within the last two years, also in the name of Hawaiki Cable.
Sanitoa requested LFO Talalemotu Mauga to obtain the following reports “in order for my colleagues and I to fully understand the financial concerns at ASTCA”.
- The 2017 and 2018 audit reports for ASTCA
- Revenue and expenditure reports for FY2017
- Revenue and expenditure reports for FY 2018
- Account Receivable Reports for FY2017 and FY2018 and
- Account Payable reports for FY2017 and FY2018.
