The Pago Pago Post Office hired three seasonal workers to handle the large volume of holiday mail.
And the extra help is welcomed as the volume of mail has been heavier than in past Christmas seasons.
Post Master Tao Suani says last week they received 28,000 pounds of mail and the previous week the volume was 32,000 pounds.
Today Monday, the Post Office is opening at 7:30am…that’s the front window lobby and back door for packages.
The Post Office will also open tomorrow Christmas Day from 9 am to 12 noon.
There will be no window services.
PO Box lobbies will be opened and also backdoor package release.
