How to engage parents in education of special children

The mother of a 22 year old girl who  suffers from brain trauma on top of a learning disability from age 3, captured the attention of special education teachers n parents of children with special needs attending a workshop which began this morning at the Tradewinds Hotel.

Rosie Rowe is from the Learning Disability Association of Hawaii which provides parental support in the areas of health care, education, inclusion, community activities and emotional support.

Ms Rowe spoke to the group about how to move children with special needs to a higher level of education and also engage their parents in the process.
