Tropical Cyclone Winston reversed and took the same path it swept through, via Tonga and Fiji.
But it’s not Winston but a monsoonal trough that’s close by which the National Weather Service is cautioning residents about.
This weather system, which started developing earlier this week, is generating high surf from the south as well as gale force winds and heavy showers.
A high surf warning, a gale warning and flash flood warning are in effect.
Meteorologist Hans Malala says the weather should begin improving by tomorrow evening and continuing on Friday.
Fale Ulufale of the Emergency Operations Center says higher than usual waves dumped debris on the main road in Aua early this morning, other than that there were no other related incidents.
