BlueSky Communications says there’s a breakage in fiber from Matuu through Fagatogo which is affecting phone services in those areas.
The company says in a statement that they have isolated the cause of the fiber issues and say they are due to another local operator cutting fiber lines in Utulei.
Certified BlueSky technical teams are on site to repair fiber lines.
BlueSky asks customers to call 811 or 699 2759 if they have any questions.
KHJ News has asked the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority for comment on the BlueSky announcement but as of news time there was no response.
This morning calls from ASTCA landlines to BlueSky phones were not connecting.
Some ASTCA landline calls were also not completing with other landline numbers.
