Since it was created 13 years ago, Tisa’s Annual Tattoo Fest has grown from strength to strength.
The festival promotes the ancient Samoan art of the tatau, or the traditional attire for men and the malu, which is the female version.
The woman who started the festival, Tisa Faamuli, is proud that it has attracted attention from around the world and tattooists who stated their trade at Alega Beach are now onto bigger exploits on the international stage.
For example tattooist Joseph Ioane, who with his wife Leuila, have just exhibited their elei inspired clothing line at the Pacific Island Runway in Sydney.
Tisa keeps adding onto the festival each year.
For the 2017 Tattoo Fest, she’s taking people on tours of her eco-tourist attractions and also on the traditional sailing canoe, Apaula.
