Next week is Spirit Week for Special Olympics Amerika Samoa.
The organization responsible for getting our young people to the World Special Olympics every four years is getting a jump start with fundraising for the 2019 games in Abu Dhabi with a benefit dinner slated for Saturday, September 23 at Lee Auditorium.
The dinner, which will feature comedian Tofiga Fepuleai of the now disbanded Laughing Samoans, will culminate Spirit Week.
Spirit Week kicks off on Sunday with a church service at the Fagatogo CCCAS.
On Monday, the Army Reserve will run with the Special Olympics banner and that morning will join the Special Olympics Committee and athletes for a wave.
On Saturday, there will be a telethon on KVZK-TV to raise money to send American Samoa’s team of Special Olympians to the World Games in March of 2019.
And that evening is the benefit dinner with the funny man Tofiga.
