Nurses, police officers, customs agents and other ASG employees who worked during the Flag Day holiday , or clocked overtime hours for the ASG pay period covered by the paychecks issued yesterday, are upset that their hours were not properly compensated.

Nurses who are still working 12 to 14 hours shifts complained that their paychecks did not include any overtime pay.

And those who worked on Flag Day said they did not get double time as the law provides.

KHJ News received calls from some ASG employees seeking the phone number for the Department of Labor representative on island so they can file complaints.

The CEO of LBJ Hospital Taufetee John Faumuina was meeting with the Acting Chief Financial Officer Emau Amosa yesterday afternoon when KHJ News tried to obtain an explanation from both officials.

A nursing supervisor we spoke to quoted the CEO saying that the Finance Office had not been given any instructions to withhold holiday pay and overtime.

According to the supervisor the CEO has said whoever went against his instructions will have to answer for their actions.
