
A report submitted by the Executive Director of the Retirement Fund Office, Vaitautolu Faafetai Iaulualo, to the House last week shows that ASG and semi autonomous agencies owed $25.6 million in unpaid contributions to the the American Samoa Government Employees Retirement Fund (ASGERF) as of March 14.
For ASG the outstanding employer share was $22.5 million while the employee share was $987,492 for a total of $23.5 million. The American Samoa Community College owed $1.1 million for the employer contribution and the employee share that’s outstanding was $157,240 for a total of $1.3 million. The LBJ Hospital owed $534,917 for the employer share and $229,251 for employee contributions for a total IOU of $764,168.
The American Samoa Power Authority is reported to be current with its employer and employee payments.
