At the pre pageant interviews for the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant in Fiji, Miss American Samoa Tofoipupu Unutoa presented on education.
She incorporated the theme of the pageant, “One Pacific One Voice-Standing Together for online safety” into her presentation.
She discussed the implementation of digital literacy within the education systems of Pacific islands. Tofoi said that digital tools offer promising and resourceful solutions to enhance student learning in a way that benefits both the teacher and student. She also believes information technology provides opportunities to promote and preserve cultural knowledge, taking note of online content produced by young people in this area.

Tofoi was asked what encouragement she would give parents to push their children forward from early childhood. Here’s part of her answer.

Thursday night the 7 contestants will be judged for the sarong and talent categories of the pageant. The winner will be crowned Friday night.
Tofoi sends her thanks to everyone for the prayers and well wishes she’s received.
