
With February being American Heart Month, the Department and Health and LBJ Hospital are promoting awareness of a condition that’s prevalent in children that can lead to heart disease if not diagnosed and treated early. This is Rheumatic fever which is most prevalent in children under 8. Dr Chrys Aguilera of the LBJ Pediatrics Division urges parents to look for the following symptoms and bring their children to DOH or LBJ Clinics for a check up.

And to celebrate Heart Month, DOH is hosting a wave at Suigaula Park in Utulei Friday beginning at 3 pm.
There’ll be a Zumba session after the wave and the public is invited to join. Participants are encourage to wear red.
