
The Election Office has started preparations for the Midterm Elections, which will include the election of members to the American Samoa House of Representatives and American Samoa’s Delegate to the U.S. Congress.
Nomination papers and petitions will be available starting June 15, 2026. Anyone interested in running for public office this year and who needs more information about qualifications and the candidate process can contact the Election Office. office.
Absentee ballot requests are now open for qualified voters who are off-island. Military personnel who wish to register online can do so by visiting the election office website. Aselectionoffice.gov.
Voter registration is also underway for those who have just turned 18 or anyone who has not yet registered to vote. Needed documents to register include a birth certificate or passport, a Social Security card, and a photo ID.
Individuals who have lost their IDs, changed their names, or need to transfer their registrations, are also encouraged to visit the Election Office for assistance.
