Vice Speaker Fetui Fetu Jr is not at all happy with comments directed at him on social media.
He said on the House floor Monday that while he respects the right of people to express their opinions he has found some of the comments rude, disrespectful and demeaning. And he said the comments were not demeaning to just him but also the Fono.
He said the House should not let these comments continue without a response.
According to the Vice Speaker two department directors have made derogatory comments about him on social media but didn’t name the directors.
House Speaker Savali Talavou Ale said the House cannot do anything about people’s opinions and urged the Speaker to be patient.
He did say that if the work of the House is impacted by statements there are other avenues that can be pursued.
