
Mechanical problems have caused a 24-hour delay in the arrival of Tuesday’s Hawaiian Airlines flight from Honolulu.
Flight 866 is now scheduled to arrive after 9 p.m. on Wednesday and depart at 11:30 p.m. Check-in counters at Pago Pago International Airport open at 6 p.m.
Due to the delay, the agreement-signing ceremony between the ASG and Google for the Le Vasa Cable, originally scheduled for today, has been rescheduled for Thursday.
The Vice President of Google, Mr. Brian Quigley, was a passenger on the delayed Tuesday flight.
He arrives tonight, Wednesday, and is to be welcomed at an ava ceremony hosted by Nuuuli village on Thursday, followed by a luncheon at the Lee Auditorium. During which Governor Pulaalii Nikolao Pula and Mr. Quigley will sign the agreement.
Yesterday, Samoa Prime Minister Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Schmidt arrived in the territory to attend the signing ceremony and also hold discussions with the Google VP.
He was greeted at the airport by Governor Pulaalii. He is accompanied by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, the CEO of the same ministry, the CEO of the Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Acting Police Commissioner.
