
One of the more than 160 high school students who’ve entered their projects in this year’s Territorial Science Fair is illustrating the effects of cigarette butts on plant growth.
Cigarette butts are the top litter item collected in the Keep American Samoa Beautify Clean up Campaign.
Leone High School freshman Talaave Tigitagi compared the growth of plants in soil where cigarette butts are dumped and plants that are grown in cigarette butt free soil.
