
Eighteen-year-old Alisi Siniva Mata’afa was crowned Saturday night as the new Miss Mosooi.
The health science major at the American Samoa Community College was sponsored by XII Star Sewing Shop and Pacific Air Charters Inc.
She is a part-time tutor at KB Academy teaching English, Math, and Phonics. A health and fitness enthusiast, Alisi plans to become an athlete or personal trainer, with the purpose of teaching others about the importance of honoring our bodies as temples of God.
Alisi won Best Tamatai Talks and Best Stage Interview, as well as special awards for Miss Congeniality and Best Siva Samoa.

Miss Mata’afa received a $5,000 scholarship sponsored by the American Samoa Visitors Bureau, a $1,000 cash grant from Neil’s ACE Hardware, and additional monetary prizes.
First runner-up was Annastacia Litia Fuamatu, sponsored by Tina o le Losalio Youth, who also won Best Talent and Best Ofu Laulaau. Second runner-up was Fagalima Amanda Pomele, sponsored by Lanuola Boutique and Family, who received the Social Media Award.
Annastacia received a $3,000 scholarship and Fagalima was awarded a $2,000 scholarship, both sponsored by the American Samoa Visitors Bureau, along with several other prizes.
The evening featured a heartfelt farewell by outgoing Miss Mosooi Kalista Aetonu Koloi, joined by her Pago Pago Catholic Youth, in a touching tribute marking the end of her year of service to the community.
