A series of Brain Health Fairs taking place in American Samoa gives the community a chance to take part in important research on memory and brain health.
The first fair happens Friday, August 22, at Fatuaoaiga Hall, followed by three days at DWYA in Pago from Monday, August 25 to Wednesday, August 27, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Event organizer Dr. Justina Tavana, faculty at Brigham Young University, says the goal is to help advance understanding of brain health, with hopes of improving the way Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias are diagnosed and treated, while safeguarding the health of Pacific Islanders for generations to come.
