ASG is hosting a second forum on the lease request for deep sea mining in waters near American Samoa this week.
The forum is this Wednesday from 5 to 7 on at the Lee Auditorium. This will be a hybrid event with in person and live streaming.
Among those presenting on line is the CEO of Impossible Metals the company whose lease request is under review by the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM).
The Director of the American Samoa Resilience Office and Co Chair of the American Samoa Deep Sea Mining Task Force., Dr Sabrina Suluai-Mahuka says this is a good opportunity for residents to ask questions and find out more information about how deep sea mining may impact the territory.
