The warehouse of the Pago Pago Trading Company at the airport was broken into over the weekend, and the culprits stole a vault from the building. The vault contained over $100,000.
The CEO of PPTC Ella Gurr told KHJ News yesterday it seems that their warehouse was targeted and the culprits knew exactly when to hit. She said whoever was responsible came prepared with heavy tools and equipment to get into the warehouse and steal a 7 ft. tall, heavy-duty vault. It’s suspected that a white van was used to take the vault somewhere to be opened.
Apart from the cash, Gurr said the vault contained very important documents for her business and family, and she prays that these can be recovered.
Gurr expressed disappointment with the lax airport security and said she has made her frustration known to the Director of Port Administration. She is asking the public for help with information that may help police catch those responsible and recover what was stolen.
