Close to 3 this afternoon, the Hawaiian Airlines plane that couldn’t leave last night, took off from Pago Pago International Airport.
The reason for the long delay as explained by Hawaiian’s Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Ann Botticelli was a problem with the display which indicates the fuel load on board the aircraft.
She said the plane wasn’t displaying any information and the aircraft cannot take off without this display so they had to take the time to trace the source of the problem.
Botticelli said once they cleared the electrical connections to the fuel quantity processor, the aircraft was cleared for takeoff.
