Groundbreaking ceremonies at Leone and Tafuna High Schools

Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga leg ASG officials attending the breaking of ground for new buildings at Leone and Tafuna High schools, Thursday.

Nana’s Inc. owned by Mrs. Fiapaipai Fruean, was awarded the construction contract for the new building at Leone High School out of 18 companies.

The project, valued at $1,440,555.00, includes two buildings which are connected.

The first building, a two-story structure will house administrative offices, VP offices, a reception area, a conference room, and the principal’s office on the first floor. The second floor will house a state-of-the-art computer lab, media room.

The second building is a one story structure to house four counselors offices and bathroom facilities.

The ground breaking at Tafuna High School was for a new JROTC Building.

Twenty-two contractors submitted bids; and TMP Masonry Construction, led by Tevita Paea, was the successful bidder.

The contract is for $1,546,200.00.

The JROTC building will be a two-story structure.

The first floor will include an open room with removable partitions, providing space for three JROTC classrooms, a laundry room, storage facilities, and separate bathrooms for boys and girls. The second floor is designated for computer labs, complete with storage rooms and additional bathroom facilities for students.

PIOA Consultants, with Will Spitzenberg at the helm, will oversee the two projects.
