Samoa Prime Minister Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Schmidt is recovering well in New Zealand, Acting Prime Minister Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molioo said in her press conference Thursday.
Laaulialemalietoa was medevaced to New Zealand April 15 and the Acting PM had said that there were concerns about his heart, lungs, and a valve.
Mulipola said updates on the Prime Minister’s condition have been provided daily, and he is progressing along well with his treatment.
She indicated that he may be returning home next week.
The Samoa Observer has reported that the PM was admitted to Middlemore Hospital upon arrival in New Zealand.
