State funeral for former Governor Lolo Moliga on April 7

A state funeral service for former Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga is scheduled for next Tuesday, April 7 at the CCCAS Kanana-fou Ua Taunuu Church.

Governor Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula sent a letter of invitation to the Senate President and House Speaker, Senators and Representatives to attend the state service. The Judicial branch and church leaders will also be represented.

The Governor invited the Fono leaders to present the Legislature’s concurrent resolution honoring the life and legacy of the former Governor at the service.

Funeral services for the late Governor are planned for April 10 and 11. At 10 a.m. on April 10th, his body will be taken from the LBJ Hospital morgue to the Tala Lelei o le Faaolataga CCCAS for a family service. Following that service, he will lie in state at his family home in Ili‘ili for a wake and traditional observances.

His final service will be held at his home in Ili‘ili on April 11 at 10 a.m., followed by burial at the family residence in Pago Pago.
