Miss American Samoa Tofoipupu Unutoa arrived safely in Nadi, Fiji Thursday after overnighting in Apia.
She traveled together from Apia to Fiji with Miss Samoa Iliganoa Feagaimaali’i Soti Mapu and reigning Miss Pacific Islands Litara Ieremia Allan.
The contestant pool for this year’s pageant is small compared to previous years. Besides Miss American Samoa and Miss Samoa, the other contestants are from Tonga, Cook Islands, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Kiribati.
Before she departed American Samoa on Wednesday, Tofoi said she was well prepared for the pageant with the support of those who have helped with her wardrobe, talent and interviews.
