The American Samoa Government now has a Special Envoy.
Directors were notified in an email from Chief of Staff Leonard Seumanutafa on Monday that High Chief Lealaisalanoa Ricky Salanoa is the Governor’s appointed Special Envoy. He said this title should reflect any and all foreign relations with American Samoa.
Directors were told that any inquiries received that they feel should fall under this scope should be forwarded to himself and Lealaisalanoa for coordination.
The email did not explain the duties of the Special envoy but this position is typically similar to that of an ambassador.
This is the first time that the American Samoa Government would have a Special Envoy.
