The new year sees the Department of Human Resources and the Tax Office at new locations.
The Department of Human Resources will be housed at the Le Taulagi Building II in Malaeimi, owned by Sally Faumuina. The two story building was officially opened Saturday, December 27, 2025 with a blessing by Rev Elder Toeaina Asisata Fouvale. It is situated behind the Le Taulagi Building 1 situated across from the American Samoa Community College.
The Environmental Health Services Division of the Department of Health has inspected the building and certified that it meets health safety requirements.
The Tax Office is moving to the first floor of the Tedi of Samoa Building at Fagatogo Square.
DHR and the Tax office were housed at the CBT building in Nuuuli but in early December DOH declared the building unsafe for occupancy due to leaks in the ceiling, mold, and inadequate number of bathrooms.
