Here’s a topic worth discussing. The cannon firing in residential areas has gone completely out of hand and has been ongoing for months—not just during the holidays.
Kids—and some adults—are openly disrespecting law enforcement, and parents need to be held accountable for allowing this behavior. What was once seen as celebration has now become a serious public peace disturbance affecting families, the elderly, churches, and community facilities.
DPS has stated they are overwhelmed and are now asking village leaders and the community to step in and help address the issue. This shows how serious the situation has become. There needs to be shared responsibility parents, families, village leadership, and enforcement before someone gets hurt.
This is no longer festive. It’s a community safety issue that needs real solutions.
