The heavy down pour on Sunday night had the rain gauge for the National Weather Service in Tafuna rising to 192.5 inches.

This surge set a new rainfall record for American Samoa surpassing the previous record of 191.39 inches set in 2020.

With scattered showers in the forecast for the next few days and a trough to the south of the islands, it’s expected that more inches will be added to the rainfall count for 2025.
