There were two drug busts by Customs Monday, one at the Customs warehouse at the airport and another at the Pago Pago Post Office.
At the customs warehouse, about two pounds of crystal methamphetamine were found in a box that arrived on the weekly cargo flight on Saturday. The drugs were detected using the scanner machine and confirmed when the box was opened in the presence of a freight forwarding agent employee who arrived to release it.
At the Post Office, Customs intercepted what was described as a large amount of medicinal marijuana in a package containing clothes. Medicinal marijuana is not legal in the territory A woman who came to pick up the package which was addressed to her father was taken in for questioning.
Police are now investigating both cases. No arrests have been made.
