Governor Pulaalii Nikolao Pula has emphasized the importance of expanding the private sector as a means to attain greater economic development for the territory.
Speaking at the welcome luncheon for the new CEO of Hawaiian Airlines, Diana Burkett Rakow, on Monday, the Governor said this was one of the four pillars of their administration.

The other pillars of the administration are providing honest governance, attaining quality health care, and lifting the quality of education.
The Governor said that it is their hope that American Samoans living in Hawaii and the mainland will want to return home when they see that these goals have been attained.
