The Department of Health is alerting residents of a surge in cases of respiratory illnesses being seen at the hospital emergency room and at community health centers.
DOH Epidemiologist Adam Konrote advises that people should stay home when sick so as not to spread viruses such as RSV and the flu, and to wash hands regularly and maintain cleanliness.
