Dr. Fred Uhrle, the resident VA doctor in American Samoa, has called for consistent education and awareness programs concerning diabetes.
He said it should be cause for alarm that children are now diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes — something that was not heard of in the past. And a major contributing factor is the diet.
