Fifteen new cases of dengue fever have been recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) in its latest report.
As of October 23, there were 303 confirmed cases of dengue fever. The week before, there were 288 cases—an increase of 24 from the prior week.
The DOH is urging residents not to let their guard down as dengue fever continues to spread across the territory.
Spraying in villages with dengue fever cases is ongoing, and families are asked to help stop the spread of the disease by cleaning up their surroundings and removing containers that collect water.
Wear protective clothing when outdoors, use a mosquito repellant that contains DEET, and fix or reinforce screen windows and doors to prevent mosquitoes from entering homes.
Symptoms of dengue include a fever, headache, sore eyes, muscle and joint pain, nausea, and rash.
