On Wednesday, McDonald’s American Samoa and the Agaoleatu Charlie Tautolo family presented a donation of $25,000 to the Agency for Better Living Endeavors (ABLE).
It’s generous donations like this that make it possible for ABLE to fund community events such as the Mosooi Festival of Arts and Humanities and Alzheimer’sDisease Awareness Month in November.
The donation was received by ABLE President Ammon Fepuleai and Vice President Elinor Lutu McMoore from McDonald’s CEO Delores Tautolo and members of the McDonald’s management team.
ABLE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community organization founded by the late Mr. and Mrs. Afoa Lutu with the mission of coordinating community programs and events to improve the lives of all residents of American Samoa.
The Mosooi Festival of Arts & Humanities will conclude with the most highly anticipated competition, the Mosooi Siva Samoa Competition between local high schools. This event is free and will be held at the Tafuna Veterans Stadium on November 8.
The calendar for the Alzheimers Disease Awareness Month will include televised cook shows focused on using healthy local resources, panel discussions between professionals and family members about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia-related diseases. ABLE is also teaming up with the Department of Agriculture to hold a farm fair during the week of Thanksgiving.
On Friday, November 28, there will be a free family concert at the Tafuna Veterans Stadium featuring Punialavaa, Marina Davis, and Ozki.
ABLE expressed grateful for the overwhelming support from the community, government, businesses, all artists, and volunteers working on the different events.
