Treasury released tax refund checks totaling $1.1 million last Friday.
According to Acting Treasurer Brett Butler, the checks were for 591 filers and represent the last remaining batches to be released.
He said there are 286 tax returns still outstanding due to a variety of errors. Butler explained that once the errors are corrected, Treasury will run special payments to issue the refunds.
A complaint from tax filers is that the Tax Office does not notify them of errors with their return until they check on the status of their tax refunds. Yet their contact information is included in the tax filing information.
