
Of the 66 laboratory-confirmed cases of dengue fever recorded by the Department of Health last Thursday, 25 were contracted locally.
In a presentation for the Office of Samoan Affairs Monday, DOH Epidemiologist Adam Konrote said that the majority of the confirmed cases are children under 19, with the highest number in the 11-15-year-old age group.

The Epidemiologist also pinpointed the villages with the most dengue cases.
Konrote explained said that while the majority of cases are presenting at the LBJ Emergency Room, there is now a noticeable increase in people with dengue symptoms being seen at the community health centers.
